About the city
Villeneuve-Loubet is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in southeastern France. It lies between Cagnes-sur-Mer and Antibes, at the mouth of the Loup River.

There are many areas around town that truly merit a visit, not only for the historical importance but also for the exhilarating and fun atmosphere they can produce. Such places are the Old Village and the forest adventure park.

There are many places well worth a visit in Villeneuve. Places like the castle and the history museum will provide you with an understanding of the town and the locals, while the nautical center and the adventure maze will surely provide a good time.
Transportation
Most travelers choose to get to Villeneuve by plane, as it is the fastest and most comfortable way. But there are many that prefer the train or the car as it makes for a more scenic route.
Events
The town of Villeneuve has only one real passion, that of horse riding. The sport is very popular with the locals and as such there is only one event that can be said to really represent the spirit of the town.
Restaurants & Nightlife
Although the town is the birthplace of one of the most famous chefs in the world, the cuisine is not something spectacular. Most dishes are quite tasty, but with a renowned name like Auguste Escoffier, the town’s restaurants could do better.
History & Civilisation
The oldest traces of occupation on the town date back to Protohistory with a habitat dispersed over several sites, but the most important remains of occupation at present date back to the Iron Age and especially the Roman period.
The Chateau of Villeneuve-Loubet
The Villeneuve-Loubet Castle, owned by the Panisse-Passis family, is a superb defensive edifice dating to the 13th century, topped by a pentagonal dungeon. The castle has been opened to the public thanks to the benevolence of the marquis de Panisse-Passis.
